A MESSAGE FROM WAI CHUNG AND MAEVE
Hola Tangueros!
We're
coming back from Argentina in June!
We spent
three exciting months in the tango capitol.
We wish everyone have the chance to feel
what it's like to
be in an authentic Milonga in Buenos Aires.
So we have decided to organize a party at
Abrazos on Friday 22/jun --
with everything that the best milongas should
offer. And we named it 'Bien Milonguero'.
Bien Milonguero
is really an expression that means, "That's really
from the Milongas of Buenos Aires".
Here is a sneak preview of our
highlights:
- Music from the Golden Age of Tango, (DJ by Maeve)
- Typical Kiosco Food and Drink from Buenos Aires
(it's really not that exotic..)
- Performance of Tango Salon by Maeve and Wai Chung
and friends,
- Ample Seating with tables
- A beautiful dance floor
- We're also throwing in a few other surprises from
Buenos Aires. You have to come to find out.
EXTRAS -- because
Singapore is such a special place!
(This doesn't happen in BA)
- Free Intermediate Class
with Wai Chung and Maeve (class starts at 9pm)
- Door gifts from Buenos Aires for a limited number
of early birds

About Wai Chung (aka "Juancho") and Maeve (aka "Mabel")
Both Wai Chung and Maeve have been dancing Tango for over 4 years.
Their passion for Tango,
combined with the pursuit of self-improvement, has led them to undertake
additional roles in the Tango community.
Complementary to continuous learning with Maestros, they also teach
Tango and DJ.
Today, their dancing has
been described as elegant, soft, and musically expressive.
As teachers they are clear in explaining dance movements in
detail and are particular about advanced techniques as well as fundamentals
such as embrace, footwork and connection to music and partner.
Students take away from the courses a strong fundamental
understanding of Tango both as a dance and as a culture.
They are encouraged to be open-minded in
their pursuit of Tango as there is often no clear definition of
"right and wrong" and the choice to dance a particular
style is completely personal.
Their recent 3-month immersion in Buenos Aires has deepened
their knowledge both as Tango dancers and teachers as they
gain a better understanding
of the many styles of Argentine Tango that is danced in the
Salons of Buenos Aires.
From the world's best teachers,
they have learned not only different styles of how to dance,
but also how to teach different styles of Tango.
