  • The easiest way to reach Alliance Francaise is to use the MRT (exit at Newton) and walk 5 mins.
  • Alliance Francaise has NO ATTACHED CAR PARK! Please park at the Scotts Road Prudential office Building (next to Goldbell Tower / Newton MRT).
  • Two other nearby car parks are: (1) Newton Circle carpark and (2) Balmoral Plaza along Bukit Timah Road. Walking time is around 7-10 min.

    Fees: $90 for both sessions, $50 for one session.

    About the artists: Pato Cereza Bandoneon maestro Patrick Vankeirsbilck, or "Pato Cereza", is a famous tango musician from Belgium. His quartet ensemble Tango 02 plays regularly for milongas all around Europe, and they have also recorded a number of albums. He studied the instrument under the legendary Alfredo Marcucci who accompanied the traditional orchestras of Di Sarli, Canaro and de Caro.

    Beata Szalwinska Beata is a critically-acclaimed pianist who trained at the Academy of Music Frederic Chopin in Warsaw, the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris and at the Conservatoire Olivier Messiaen. She is the pianist of Aconcagua Quintet, which focuses on tango nuevo and Astor Piazzolla. Due to a medical emergency, Beata is unable to travel to Singapore at this time. She is substituted with Catherine Smet, the pianist of Tango 02.

    Total Duration: 6 hours.
    Fee: $140 for 6 hours, $100 for 4 hours, $60 for 2 hours.

    This course is mainly for followers to expand their technical foundation, through walking, rhythm marking, balancing, extension, shines.

    Beginners can also join this course, as it is focused primarily on your own body techniques. No partner is required.

    She will show you how to reproduce her signature movements, which are impressive for being a fine balance between sensuality and power.

    About Gladys Fernandez Site
    Gladys is an accomplished, highly-skilled and experienced tango dancer, most regarded for her signature dance technique in ladies' styling for Argentine Tango. Born in Buenos Aries, her classical and modern dance background stems from training at the Escuela Nacional de Danzas and Taller de Danza Contemporanea in Buenos Aries, as well as Mudra Internacional in Brussels (by personal invitation from director Maurice Bejart). She has worked and learnt with renowned Argentine Tango teachers and dancers including Miguel Angel Zotto, Gustavo Naveira, Mingo & Ester Pugliese, and Nito & Elba Garcia, Alberto Villaraso & Nelly, Puppy Castello, Aicibiades, Manolo, Tommy, and Tano Guillermo.

    Anibal is a popular and approachable teacher who has taught our local tangueros and tangueras, and toured extensively in Asia and Europe; while continuing to teach at prestigious Tango schools in Buenos Aires. He has learned from great teachers such as Luciana Valle, Fernando Galera and Vilma Vega, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Dina Martinez, Valencia Batiuk, Chicho Frumboli, Sebastian Arce and Gustavo Naveira.
